Privacy Policy
The short version
Clearhead is built to collect as little as physically possible. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no trackers. Everything you type — your name, body details, and logged sessions — stays on your own device and never leaves it.
The only information that ever leaves your phone is the minimal purchase record needed to run the optional Premium subscription, handled by Google Play and our subscription provider RevenueCat. We never see your name, email, or payment card.
1. Who we are
Clearhead is an independent, educational harm-reduction application operated by Culture s.r.o. (see Impressum). It estimates how long a substance is likely to affect you and when those effects fade, based on published pharmacological research.
2. What we collect
On your device only (never uploaded): the name and body details you may enter (age, sex, height, weight) and any sessions you log. These are used only on your device to calculate your estimate and are never transmitted.
We do NOT collect:
- No location, GPS, or IP-based tracking
- No advertising identifiers
- No usage analytics or telemetry
- No crash reporting to third parties
- No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access
- No name, email, or phone number sent off your device
The one exception — Premium purchases. If you buy an optional Premium subscription, the purchase is processed by Google Play and recorded by our subscription provider, RevenueCat, so the app can confirm your subscription is active. This purchase record is tied to an anonymous identifier — we never receive your name, email, or payment-card details. See section 4.
3. Where your data lives
Anything you enter or log is saved locally on your device using the operating system's standard on-device storage. It is never synced to a cloud and is accessible only to the Clearhead app. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, this information is permanently deleted. You can also clear your logged history any time from within the app (History → Clear all history).
4. Subscriptions & third-party services
Clearhead uses no advertising networks, no analytics providers, and no social logins. The only third-party service is our subscription provider, RevenueCat, used solely to manage the optional Premium subscription.
When you purchase or restore Premium, RevenueCat receives your purchase history (the product and whether it is active), linked to an anonymous app-user identifier. RevenueCat acts as our data processor. It does not receive your name, email, or payment details — those are handled entirely by Google Play. We do not sell, rent, or share your data for advertising or any other purpose. RevenueCat's own policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
5. Network use
The core app functions entirely offline and needs no internet connection to calculate your estimates. The only time it uses the network is to verify or restore a Premium subscription (via Google Play and RevenueCat). We run no servers that store your personal content.
6. Permissions
Clearhead requests only the minimum permissions needed to run. It may use the device's haptic (vibration) feedback and post local notifications. It does not request location, contacts, camera, or microphone.
7. Children
Clearhead is intended for adults (rated 18+). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
8. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and equivalents)
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Because almost everything stays on your device, you are already in full control — clear it in-app or uninstall at any time. For the one piece of data held off-device (your anonymous Premium purchase record at RevenueCat), you can request access or deletion — see section 9.
9. How to delete your data
On your device. Everything you enter — name, body details, logged history — lives only on your device. Delete it any time via History → Clear all history, or by uninstalling the app, which erases it permanently.
Premium purchase record (off-device). If you bought Premium, an anonymous record of that purchase is held by our subscription provider RevenueCat. To request its deletion, email info@clearheadapp.com and include your Google Play order ID (or the email of the Google account used for the purchase) so we can locate the record. We will delete the associated RevenueCat customer record within 30 days.
What is deleted vs retained. On request we delete the anonymous purchase/subscription record described above. Note that Google Play may independently retain transaction records for legal, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes, as required by law and governed by Google's own policy. We hold no other personal data about you to delete.
10. Security
Your on-device information is protected by your device's own security (lock screen, encryption). The purchase data exchanged with Google Play and RevenueCat is encrypted in transit. We run no central database of your personal content to breach.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and publish the revised version at the same URL. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
